Job Description
We are seeking a proactive NPD Engineer to drive new product development activities from customer drawing review to successful production launch. The role involves coordinating with design, tooling, production, quality, and customers to ensure timely development of quality castings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings and specifications to assess product feasibility.
- Develop casting methods, gating and riser systems for new products.
- Coordinate pattern, core box, and tooling development activities.
- Plan and execute trial castings, sample approvals, and product validation.
- Prepare process documents, control plans, work instructions, and development reports.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Purchase teams during product development.
- Analyze casting defects and implement corrective actions to achieve first-time-right development.
- Support customer interactions, technical discussions, and PPAP/sample submissions.
- Maintain NPD project timelines and ensure on-time product launches.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, cost, and productivity.
